I had the incredible opportunity to showcase a fashion collection at the 2025 Diploma Festival titled Reinterpreting the Philosophical Concepts Memento Mori and Memento Vivere in Contemporary Fashion. This work, designed by Bianca-Larisa Hiristea, explores the themes of life’s transience and the beauty of living fully.
Inspired by 1960s loungewear, the collection features delicate handcraft techniques like sewing, crochet, and knitting, creating pieces that are both introspective and emotionally expressive. The color palette transitions from vibrant pinks, blues, and greens to muted, earthy tones reminiscent of fading flowers, symbolizing the passage of time.
Through overlays, transparency, and contrasting materials, the collection reflects on how we perceive and relate to the ephemeral nature of life. Presenting these pieces on stage was an unforgettable experience, and I’m thrilled to share a few photos from the show here on my blog.
